Preaching Symposium
On February 24th we met at Morning Star Baptist Church for our first Preaching Symposium. Dr. Marvin McMickle, Dr. Thomas Gilmore, Rev. Gloria Chaney and Min. Denise Eady highlighted our panel of Homilists.
ABC Women in Leadership
On January 25th, in a special Zoom meeting, The Ministers Council introduced a panel of African American Women now leading our denomination in various positions. The meeting included our new General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Gina Jacobs-Strain; our new CBA Executive Minister, Rev. Dr. Tanikka Sheppard; the new president of the Board of General Ministries, Rev. Nikita McCalister; the president of American Baptist Women's Ministries, Rev. Dr. Christine Smith; the Ministers Council National Program Director, Rev. Dr. Valerie Andrews, and our own Rev. Dr. Yvonne Carter.
