Character Development at Stark Regional Community Correction Center is a faith-neutral class, studying a different trait each week. Through self-evaluation, women are encouraged to identify their strengths and weaknesses. As participants become more self-aware, they can recognize traits which may have led to their current situation. Sharing in this class is intentional, with a focus on future growth. Here’s what clients are saying:
“I’ve grown since making it to this class.”
“I want to come to this class, even though it’s optional.”
“This class shows me who I want to become.”

For women navigating the criminal justice system, Christian Yoga at Stark Regional Community Correction Center (SRCCC) offers a restorative, Christ-centered approach to healing that addresses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Many carry deep burdens from trauma, addiction, and broken relationships, and this class provides a safe space to experience peace, renewal, and hope through the love of Jesus. Each session includes gentle, Scripture-based movement and breathwork, accompanied by Christian music, creating a tranquil atmosphere for worship, reflection, and connection with God.
Participants are encouraged to release stress, build strength while improving balance and flexibility, and embrace their true identity in Christ as they spend time in God’s Word together. Coupled with prayer, the techniques taught in this class help women know the power of being present. Letting go of past regrets and future worries, class members learn to rest in God.
Christian Yoga brings clients an opportunity to practice self-care and commune with God in a difficult season. Women can relax, centering their minds and hearts, in a welcoming, calm environment. The class reminds women that they matter, God loves them, and He is real and present with them.

We continue to witness powerful transformation through our women’s ministry at the Northeast Reintegration Center in Ohio. This season has been marked by growth, courage, and tangible progress as women step into new purpose. In our Workforce Development program, we proudly graduated nine women who participated in mock interviews led by volunteers from Superior Beverage Group’s HR and warehouse teams. Clients’ willingness to prepare for reentry reflects their faith in the truth of Jeremiah 29:11—”God has plans to give them hope and a future.”
Our programs focused on personal restoration are thriving. Eleven women graduated from our Motherhood program, gaining tools to rebuild and strengthen relationships with their children, motivated by the outlook of Isaiah 54:13: “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” Our Character Development class is in full swing, deep into a 14-week journey through book two, while a new round of our Boundaries program launched with 14 women committed to breaking cycles of codependency. Meanwhile, Celebrate Recovery is at capacity, with participants courageously completing Principle #4—taking a moral inventory of their past hurts, habits, and hang-ups—reflecting Psalm 139:23-24: “Search me, God, and know my heart… see if there is any offensive way in me.”
We are especially encouraged by the bravery displayed in Making Peace and Beyond, where ten women are walking through their past to recognize where Jesus has been present in their stories. As they begin to shape their testimonies, they are living out Revelation 12:11: “They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.” Their willingness to face pain and redeem it for God’s glory is nothing short of inspiring, and we are honored to walk alongside them in this sacred work of healing and purpose.
Most exciting is the launch of our new 12-week program, Rooted—written by True Freedom Ministries and inspired by the vision of the NERC warden. Designed to help women overcome trauma while building confidence and identity in Christ, Rooted is already bearing fruit. With six faithful, servant-hearted volunteers leading the way, participants are learning to stand firm in who God says they are. As Colossians 2:6-7 reminds us, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him.” We are deeply grateful for what God is doing and remain expectant for all that is to come.

The Motherhood class at Stark Regional Community Correction Center (SRCCC) provides a biblically grounded framework for women walking in this sacred role. Rooted in scripture, the course highlights the responsibilities of mothers caring for their children while also nurturing their own spiritual well-being. The power of receiving unconditional love from Christ is reflected in the love between a mother and child, offering a pathway to redemption. Here’s what clients are saying:
“This class is uplifting and brings joy to my heart.”
“This class is teaching me patience and how to be a better mother.”
“I can’t wait for the next session.”
