I give God the glory always. Through the fire that took forever to get to the other side, I burned with pride, envy, lust, selfishness and anger. The fire that was in me burning was nothing like the fire I stepped into, being the consequences of those things. The fire I stepped into burned those things away. I had no idea I was struggling with these issues. I was in denial, even as my life was crumbling before me. But, while in the fire, as those things are burning away, the realization kicked in. These are not Godly characteristics. I was wayward bad and making excuses. When my world collapsed around me, I knew God was the only one that could help. I was convicted and God was chastening me. I was running away from God, and all but gave up, and didn’t even believe in myself anymore. All I had was a prayer. “ God forgive me”. I give God the glory for never leaving me nor forsaking me. if you find yourself in the fire, be of good cheer and fear not, God is there.
