With this kitchen, individuals won’t have to invest in equipment and it will ensure they know how to preserve their food safely and effectively. With the short Ohio growing season and small kitchens in older homes, this is a much needed resource. This space will also act as a home base to teach other “home economics” skills that have been lost and provide resources for community, school and home gardens. Examples include growing your first garden, how to cook with seasonal vegetables and making homemade baby food.
