Mo’s Mini Farm, located in a semi-rural area of Clay, Alabama, raises several breeds of chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea fowl. Our main goal is to breed quality chickens that will not only be eye-candy in your flock but also produce a beautifully colored egg basket. We currently have breeds producing 5 different colors of eggs: white, brown/pink, dark brown, blue, green, and olive! Our pure chic
ken breeds currently include these hens in our mixed laying flock: Brahmas, Cochins, Wyandotte, Delaware, Speckled Sussex, Spangled Russian Orloffs, Marans, and Leghorns. Our specialty breeds that we are producing include: pure, top-line Ameraucana, with foundation flocks direct from two prominent breeders; pure Marans; Russian Orloff that are listed as critical on the Conservancy List; the unique Exchequer Leghorn; and the beautiful Splash Laced Red Wyandotte. We also breed for OliveEggers and EasterEggers to add even more variety to your flock and egg basket! In the spring of 2011, we added Rouen & Cayuga ducks (both listed on the Conservancy List) and a Tufted Roman goose (also listed as critical on the Conservancy List). We also received a shipment of ducklings and another pair of goslings in May 2012 to diversify our breeding program, as well as to add the duck breed Blue Swedish. Currently, all of our ducks and geese are enjoying one large flock. We hope to separate the breeds for pure breeding during the summer of 2015. Other Mo’s Mini Farm animals include free ranging guinea fowl, potbelly pigs, a rabbit, and a Box turtle. Of course, what farm is complete without several cats for rodent control and dogs to sound the alarm for any lurking predators? ;-)
