1. Herndon was named after Commander William Lewis Herndon. An American naval explorer and author! ⚓️

2. Herndon drew in a lot of residents due to the popularity of dairy farming back in the day! 🐄

3. Capitals player Joe Snively, Napster founder, Sean Parker, and broadcast journalist Angie Goff are a few notable people from Herndon. 🏒

4. Herndon has a sister city! It’s Runnymede in Surrey, England!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

5. During the summer Herndon has 2 notable events. Town Square Tuesdays, where every Tuesday there’s live music and activities in the Herndon Town Square, and Farmer’s Market Fun Days where every Thursday morning, there are fun events for kids in the town square! 🎸
