Intentional acts of service, friendship and activism are at the core of our ethos. Underpinning all of this is a commitment to racial, sexual and religious diversity. Sharing this commitment, the administrative team, the Board of Directors and residents unified in collaboration to significantly reduce the energy costs and carbon footprint of the whole community through three LEED certified buildings, the installation of over 2,000 solar panels, initiating solar power and since 2000 a 50% reduction in water use. Licensed with the State of California as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Pilgrim Place is a type of retirement community where a continuum of care - independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care - are offered.
