Exercise daily. Regular exercise is good for your whole body, including your skin. When you exercise, avoid wearing clothing or using exercise equipment that rubs your skin and may cause irritation. Shower or bathe right after exercise.

Acne Tip of the Day

Try an over-the-counter acne product. These acne products don't need a prescription. They may have ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, which curb bacteria and dry your skin. Start with a small amount at first. Then you can adjust how much you use and how often, depending on how much peeling or drying you have. Use these products with caution if you have sensitive skin. AlaPim is a great product to try because it is all natural! Prevent future acne scars, like the ones shown here, by treating acne now.

Acne Tip of the Day

Rumors about unprotected sun exposure being beneficial in reducing skin oiliness and thereby reducing acne are ill-founded. People with acne should avoid sun exposure and use an effective UVA/UVB sunscreen.

Acne Tip of the Day

Using a mild daily moisturizer lotion or cream can be beneficial, especially if you are using drying prescription creams from your doctor. Don't use heavy ointments or grease. These can further clog pores and aggravate your acne. Choose a moisturizer that is labeled oil-free and non-comedogenic, which means it won't create comedones, the blackheads that clog pores. It's usually best to apply moisturizer right after acne face medication.

Acne Tip of the Day

Acne is not caused by a dirty face. In fact, washing your face too much can make pimples worse. The temperature of the water is also important. Use warm water and a gentle facial cleanser to avoid drying the skin. Lastly, don't scrub with a washcloth; use fingertips and wash the face gently.
