Jesus is...bread?
When Jesus said “I am the bread of life”, the people listening probably weren’t thinking of Wonder bread. They knew bread was a process. It took work. Wheat had to die through harvesting, had to be pounded into flour, the dough is cut, then thrown into an oven. When the bread is finished baking, it still bears the scars that were put there.
Jesus does the same for us. He bears the scars so that each day, we have a reminder that He is the only thing that will truly feed your hunger (John 6:35).
