During National Police Week, we honor and remember all law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. We also recognize the men and women who continue to serve each day with dedication and selflessness.

We are especially proud of the officers who serve and have served Delhi Township, and we remember Officer John Bechtol, who made the ultimate sacrifice on October 25, 1978.

Several of our officers have recently been recognized by outside organizations for their outstanding work:

• Sgt. Joe Goddard received the Blue Coat of the Year Award from the St. Dominic Delhi Knights of Columbus for his high standards of service, community involvement, and selfless commitment.

• Corporal Brad Doerger was recognized by Queen City Lodge #69 for excellence in interagency investigations, particularly his work with the Drug Abuse Reduction Task Force.

• Detective Jimmy Gilbert received an award from the Hamilton County Sexual Assault Response Team for his exemplary support of victims of sexual assault.

Please join us in congratulating these officers and thanking all members of law enforcement for their continued service to our community.

Today, officers from the Delhi Township Police Department had a great time visiting Delshire Elementary School for their Enrichment Day!

Students got a hands-on look at how we process crime scenes, including learning about evidence collection and trying out fingerprinting techniques. It was a fun and interactive way to show how important attention to detail and teamwork are in police work.

Thank you to the staff and students for having us—we loved the opportunity to connect, educate, and inspire!

Adopt A Class Program

Each month a group of our officers and civilian staff get to hang out at Delshire Elementary. We visit Mr. Kessler's 3rd grade class as part the Adopt A Class program. Each visit highlights a different aspect of the jobs our officers do. This month the students got to learn about drones and when/how they are used. They got to see the drones in action, watch what the drones see from 400 feet up, and even (not very successfully) try to out run it. The students are always very respectful and always ask wonderful questions. We love our time at Delshire Elementary!
