AGLAMESIS BROTHERS
Perry Contracting Inc. had the recent good fortune to be part of the renovations of the Oakley flagship location of the Cincinnati icon “Aglamesis Bros.” Opened in 1913 the store was considered a charming gathering place for east siders, and continues to be that today, although the fame of Aglamesis Brothers’ chocolates and ice cream has spread far beyond Oakley. The façade of the store was last renovated in 1965 and was ready for a facelift in conjunction with a rebranding of this Cincinnati treasure. RWA Architects provided a re-design of the façade that was sensitive to the store’s history yet incorporated eye-popping features. The project involved stabilizing the brick façade of the building (performed by
Hart Restoration), structural improvements, new doors, windows, and storefront, repainting, a new marquee sign (designed and installed by Atlantic Sign), new awnings, and accent lighting. All work was completed without closing the sidewalk or the store.
We are most appreciative of Aglamesis Brothers, RWA Architects and De Metro Realty for involving us in this unique project.

Perry Contracting’s Mountain Man -- Matt Fox
"Mountain Man Matt”
Matt Fox enjoys a challenge. The first weekend after he joined Perry Contracting, Matt completed the 28.7-mile Twin Valley Trail Challenge on Saturday, then on Sunday ran the Germantown 50K race placing 1st in his age group. During the recent blizzard, Matt went for an invigorating hike in subzero temps with wind chills to 30 below.
But the crowning achievement of Matt’s physical challenges is completing from end to end the Triple Crown of US long distance trails.
The trails included in the Triple Crown are, the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail. These three trails were the first designated National Scenic Trails in the National Trails System.[4]
Their total length is about 7,875 miles (12,674 km); vertical gain is more than 1,000,000 feet (300,000 m). A total of 22 states are visited if the three trails are completed.[5] The American Long Distance Hiking Association – West (ALDHA–West) is the only organization that recognizes this hiking feat. At the ALDHA–West gathering, held each fall, the Triple Crown honorees are recognized and awarded plaques noting their achievement. Matt is pictured above with his plaque received at the award ceremony in Keystone Colorado in 2022. As of the end of the application period in 2021, 525 hikers have been designated Triple Crowners by ALDHA-West since 1994. To get perspective on how rare and significant it is to hike all 3 trails in their totality, fewer people have done it than have been in outer space!
In addition to his physical accomplishments, Matt is also a Veteran and an outstanding employee we are proud to have on our team.

ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) recognizes Luke Perry as their “National - Young Professional of the Year"
Associated Builders and Contractors announced Luke Perry, Vice President of Operations at Perry Contracting Inc, as their 2022 “Young Professional of the Year”. Perry was honored with the award at the organization’s annual convention in San Antonio. The award is presented based on career achievement, leadership and vision for the future of commercial and industrial construction. Perry was selected out of thousands of emerging leaders based on his contributions and dedication to the industry and ABC.
Prior to receiving this recognition, Luke Perry formed the “Next Generation Leaders Group” at his Ohio Valley chapter. He then lobbied for a seat for this group on the local ABC board of directors. Appreciative of Perry’s perspectives and dedication to ABC, the chapter president, John Morris, encouraged him to seek the position of board chairman, which he won, becoming the youngest Chairman of the Board in the chapter history. He led the chapter’s efforts to keep member construction businesses open and productive through the COVID 19 pandemic.
Perry has made gaining and keeping the respect of the employees at his family business paramount in his leadership throughout his career including working on Perry Contracting jobsites as a youth, and working for a large national contractor after college to hone his skills before rejoining the company. He is deeply passionate about showing young adults the different career pathways outside of a 4 year degree and the success and satisfaction that can come with a career in the trades.
For more information on the award follow the links below to the press release from ABC announcing the award, and the Goering Center honoring Luke’s achievement.

Perry Contracting would like to thank Daren and Kathy Murrer for giving us the opportunity to convert a former Kmart and attached strip center into the home for the new office and fulfillment center for their business “The Collecting Warehouse”.
The Collecting Warehouse is your one stop shop for any items needed to display, store, or preserve your collectibles.
The project included building out 11,000 square feet of contemporary office space and 90,000 square feet of warehousing. Polished concrete floors, new LED lighting, and a new high density sprinkler system were among the upgrades required for the fulfillment center. Perry Contracting would also like to congratulate our superintendent, Jim Rasche, on another successful project.

PERRY CONTRACTING INSTALLS BI-POLAR IONIZATION IN HOME OFFICE!
Perry Contracting has taken another step in making their office safer in the age of COVID 19 by installing bi-polar ionizers on all HVAC units. After installing this technology in the offices of several medical and dental clients for the safety of their patients, Jim Perry decided that his employees deserved that same level of protection. The installation was completed several weeks ago, and now as the weather turns colder, our office will be possibly the safest indoor space the staff of Perry Contracting will spend time in until the virus is eradicated. See our post of June 9 for a detailed explanation of how this technology offers an added layer of protection in your home or office.
