Veterans, public enjoy event at Chico airport - Chico Enterprise Record CHICO — It was a Veterans Day like few others at the Chico Municipal Airport, with the unveiling of the finally complete F-15 jet, and an airborne salute to veterans.

On to Chico, via police es**rt, where a crowd of aviation enthusiasts greeted the arrival. Most of the crowd dispersed well before the completion of unloading, which involved attaching both wings and the landing gear. It took 7 hours on a sunny, hot tarmac to accomplish the task. All that remains is to complete the restoration in the next 3-4 weeks.

The Freedom Eagle arrived Sunday morning, 11am. 1 of the Museum members met the truck in Orland & attached 2 American flags to the tails - a wonderful and dramatic entrance. Norm & Janice Rosene began tracking the F-15 early Sunday morning, via a Cessna 170, for video & still photographs, by air. A wild ride, flying low and fast. Got some beautiful shots including the convoy crossing the Sacramento River...
