Happy Thanksgiving from the team at KemperLesnik!

At KemperLesnik, one of our core values is giving back to our local community. Yesterday, we put that value into practice as the KL team stepped out of the office to roll up our sleeves and spend the afternoon picking up trash at Humboldt Park.

As a team, we were able to pick up more than 20 bags of litter, allowing locals to enjoy a clean park on a sunny summer day. It always feels good to get our hands dirty and help make a positive impact in our area.

The KemperLesnik team recently welcomed 13 members of the My Block, My Hood, My City Explorers Program to our corporate office. The M3 Explorers Program is an after-school program that focuses on exposing high school students to the wide range of career opportunities in and around Chicago through explorations to varying companies, museums, schools and more.

After a quick tour of the office, members of the KL team spoke with the group about our company, what a typical day looks like for a member of our team, and some of the different projects our team works on in the fields of sales, public relations, and sports & events.

These experiential learning opportunities play a critical role in pushing students outside of their comfort zone and providing them with an increased understanding of the opportunities available to them outside their own neighborhood.

Giving back is a huge part of who we are at KemperLesnik, and we always appreciate having the opportunity to share our knowledge and perspective with others. Thank you to My Block My Hood My City and their talented group of students for joining us!

Last week, the whole KemperLesnik team gathered for the agency’s annual All Hands. The day started at the WNDR Museum, where our team listen to mental performance coach Dr. Tiffany Jones. Dr. Tiff discussed health and wellness, the practice of meditation, and how to manage anxiety and pressure in and out of the workplace.

Our group then headed to lunch, where KL leadership handed out prestigious annual awards for Rookie of the Year, Excellence in Agency Services, Creative Program of the Year, and Community Service.

After the awards luncheon, we participated in professional development workshops led by Goudie Media Services and Fighting Irish Media, focusing on media and messaging training, fan engagement, and the changing landscape of college athletics.

The afternoon ended with an inspiring speech from Nik and Chris Nikic, who shared with us Chris’s story of how he became the first person with Down Syndrome to complete an Ironman Triathlon. More than a few tears were shed.

It's always a pleasure when our team has the chance to give back and volunteer at Chicago's Food Bank The Greater Chicago Food Depository.
