Jenal Dolson’s installation “Interrobang” continues at the 65GRAND Project Space through September 26th.

Enveloped in an overtly bright, striped environment, Interrobang stages a dynamic interplay of color, pattern, and optical vibration, destabilizing perceptual assumptions and enacting a phenomenological encounter in which space, surface, and body are inseparably entangled. In this way, the paintings hold gesture as the body holds touch: as residue, as a lingering presence - embodying the interrogative tension of the interrobang itself.

Heather Mekkelson’s solo exhibition “bass note” continues through May 23rd with gallery hours on Fridays & Saturdays 12-6pm. Please note there are extended hours at 65GRAND this Friday, May 15th until 9pm for the opening of the project space featuring Jenal Dolson.

Mekkelson’s “bass note snare” emerges simultaneously from two galleries on opposite ends of Chicago. 65GRAND in the North Side neighborhood of Humboldt Park, features “bass note.” Sixteen miles away, in the South Side Morgan Park neighborhood, boundary presents “snare.”
