I became the new CEO/President of FCHN Program Inc (Feed, Clothe and Help the Needy Program Inc.) I was voted into this position by the board due to the fact we lost our beloved President and Founder Mother Betty Price my mom. For over thirty years my family has service the Englewood neighborhood and surrounding communities in the city of Chicago Illinois. During the pandemic and the loss of both
of my parents it was very difficult to service the community, donations were little to none and moral was very low. Looking back this was the most difficult time of my life. After the reconstruction of this organization, I am happy to say all government standards and requirements for our 501 3c nonprofit have been updated and in good standings. Even though this is true, we are still working on our new renovated facility. This facility is own and operated by the FCHN Program Inc. self-contained location in the Southside of Chicago Il. The FCHN will no longer just be a well-known soup kitchen but an inspiring Community Center. will house other community programs as well. It is our goal to come together for everyone whether in need or not. We want to be a place where you can go and network, have events, business meetings and community gatherings. We are asking for your support to provide, an adult program for our seniors, transportation services, FCHN Program community band, Free WIFI for those who need access to the internet for job applicants and other appropriate services, general public Cafe, after school program, group counseling, referrals and so much more. We have cared for the people in the community for over 30 years and counting. Growing up I witness my parents give what they had to feed clothe and help those in need post pandemic, and now that they’re no longer here I ask that you the person that is reading this post to become a monthly donor, this will assist us in continuing this quest in services our community and surrounding areas? My parents were married for over 50 years and my dad Earnest Price who just pass away last year 2022 never got over the loss of his beloved my mom. I promised my parents that I would continue this legacy. The day my mom passed away I comforted her and stayed by her side until she made her transition, “cancer is an evil monster”. That same day I had to give the news to my dad. My dad moved into my home eventually his new reality had taken the best of him. It was difficult caring for him while grieving for my mom but it was an honor as well, my parents took their hard earn money to care for so many others in the city of Chicago without prejudice or judgement, “My God I wouldn’t have had it any other way.” Now I am without the both of them and my heart is heavy with concerns of if I will be able to continue this community legacy? I have not lost all hope! Now by the grace of God and thanks to those that have been so generous to this cause we are looking to becoming a full Community Center. There is still lots of work to be done so I’m asking that you give what you have whether it monetary, your time or any skills you may have to help this organization grow. We are a 5013c organization your charitable contributions are definitely appreciated and can be used as a tax write off. Thank you for your time and consideration.
