Dance Peace

Dance Peace is proud to partner with Heartland Human Care Services to offer meaningful dance sessions for unaccompanied teens navigating complex circumstances. Dance provides a space for creative expression, physical well-being, personal healing, cultural exchange, peer connection, and yes, even laughter and joy. 💛 Meet our instructor team for this season: Jordan Ordoñez-Guimarães, Katie DeSalvo, and Sandy Perez.

We’re also continuing to offer a scholarship opportunity for refugee dancers ages 7+ through our valued partnership with Music House.

Dance Peace just received the devastating news that that three of the four shelters for unaccompanied asylum seekers/ migrant youth we work with are being closed due to federal government actions. Our hearts are with these awesome teenagers. Their love for dance at such a critical time in their lives has been palpable. Our thoughts also go out to the staff at our partner agencies being furloughed from their jobs.

The news is reporting that this upcoming Tuesday may be especially painful for Chicago. Here is some ''Know Your Rights' information and upcoming workshops, shared graphics from People's Town Hall and distributed within Refugee Community Connection. Dance Peace stands with all of our dancers and their families.
