It’s time to —63% of Wisconsinites support Cannabis legislation according to Marquette Law School.
Democrats worked hard this legislative session to protect h**p and legalize recreational (and medical) cannabis. We have been working through legislation in support of our constituents and local small businesses, and are aiming for a bipartisan agreement that supports safety, Wisconsin families, public health, constitutional freedoms, and small businesses. But the Republicans at the State Capitol failed to come to an agreement and didn’t bring any reasonable proposals to a vote before our legislative session came to a close.
Legalizing offers new opportunities for jobs; would bring in millions of dollars in state revenue that could be going to public schools, infrastructure and communities; and would begin to address racial disparities that our state’s outdated drug policy perpetuates (Black and Brown Wisconsinites are 4x more likely to be arrested for Cannabis possession, despite having similar usage rates as white Wisconsinites). The h**p industry has already provided these opportunities for many Wisconsinites, but federal changes that take effect this fall will threaten that—and it’s infuriating that Republicans in the majority gaveled out of the session without solving this.
If legalized, it would be important for Wisconsin to review any cannabis related convictions in order to create a more equitable justice system–something that Wisconsinites deserve.
I’m listening: what do you think?

Menopause-perimenopause merch? Why yes, it’s our hottest item this season🔥
Did you know I authored the perimenopause & menopause education bill this legislative session? And that did a press conference with us and shared her testimony alongside us in the Senate committee hearing? And that my bill is bipartisan? And that my bill passed UNANIMOUSLY out of committee? Now let’s win the majority and get it signed into law🔥
(Omg please elect a governor who would sign this into law.)
The totes are our most popular item🔥, and—they’re hilarious, grab attention and get comments wherever they go, destigmatize talking about menopause, and unify women as we fight for better public health education, research, and access to affordable healthcare. We love them. And you can order here:
