On Friday Illinois became the second state in the country mandating Equal Pay for temporary staffing agency workers! The second of more states to follow!

Gov. Pritzker signs law to strengthen protections for Illinois temp workers Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a bill Friday aimed at strengthening legal protections for temporary workers, many of whom advocates say are subjected to low pay and exploitation because of their employment status.

Today, over 40 of our YouTube Music members began a historic ULP strike.

To our knowledge, this is the first time a group of Google workers has gone on strike and our first ever strike as AWU-CWA.

Workers are currently being forced to return to the office on February 6, 2023. On average, YouTube music workers are paid 19 dollars an hour and cannot afford the relocation, travel or childcare costs associated with in-person work. Most workers were hired remotely, and nearly a quarter are not based in Texas. The upcoming return to office date threatens the livelihoods of workers who do not live in the Austin area.
