Our Vision: All people, regardless of where they start or where they’ve been, can access employment as a pathway out of poverty. Founded in 1981 with 18 original members, CJC has grown to include over 100 community-based organizations, civic groups, businesses, and individuals committed to helping disadvantaged Illinoisans gain access to the education and training they need to enter the labor market, secure stable employment at a living wage, and pursue sustainable careers.

CJC Launches Clean Energy Workforce Table in Central Illinois — %CJC 06/10/2026

Clean energy jobs are growing across Illinois — and Central Illinois communities deserve to be part of the opportunity.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Central Illinois Clean Energy Workforce Table, a new collaborative effort bringing together workforce leaders, employers, educators, community organizations, and state partners to help build equitable pathways into clean energy careers.

Through this work, CJC will support regional coordination, strengthen workforce strategies, and help ensure communities across Central Illinois can access the jobs and economic opportunities created through Illinois’ clean energy transition.
