86 years young today. Thank you for the steady trickle of texts, calls and messages. The days of 4/11-4/16 this year showcase the beauty and the tragedy of life. On 4/11, we recognized the 15 year anniversary of my dad’s passing. Today, is your favorite tall artist’s bday and also the day we had my dad’s funeral those 15 years ago. And on 4/16, it would have been my dad’s 80th bday and I’ll be celebrating 22 months of sobriety. Life truly is a yin and a yang.
I’m down at my favorite little beach town finishing up the edits to my new Bear Whitman novel THE MOON AND YOU and also diligently rehearsing my lines for the upcoming Billy Joel tribute show I’m leading on 4/29.

Thank you to all my incredible family and friends. I’ve been fortunate to link up with some amazing humans on my journey.

With what’s left of my time here, I hope
to continue to grow, to learn, to be curious and to lead with love, safety, compassion, authenticity, laughter, presences, self-awareness, kindness and an affinity for dark chocolate and pistachios.

Always and all ways,
Brett Michael Visconti 💚🤍❤️

Another month of celebrating sobriety. On the eve of the biggest blackout holiday of the year, I am glad to know I’ve chosen to keep my wits over forgetting my name and acting a fool (like I did so many times before). Thanks for the support. Being sober really feels so good.

So marvelous to get back on campus today and reconnect with my current self and my former self. When I attended , it was still a college but it taught me so much. How to be a critical thinker; how to be a deep thinker; how to be an independent thinker; how to be inclusive; how to be compassionate and, of course, how to drink a LOT of booze. While I’m about as far away now (and have been for years) from the Catholic faith (or any sacred faith), I am entirely grateful for the memories and friendships I formed here. I didn’t know a soul when I arrived on campus as a fresh-faced freshmen in the fall of 1998. And yet, I turned out OK and made friends for life.
