Benefits of Watermelon: inflammation Reduction

Inflammation in the body occurs as an immune response to an irritant. Many chronic conditions result from inflammation, such as: rheumatoid arthritis, bronchitis, psoriasis, and Crohn’s disease. Some of the antioxidants in watermelon like lycopene,
carotenoids, vitamin C, citrulline, and choline, which can prevent or slow the damage to cells that comes from free radicals, according to 2016 research . Free radicals are unstable molecules that may damage cells they are created by exposure to: cigarette smoke, environmental pollutants, radiation, certain drugs and pesticides, industrial solvents leading to inflammation and overall chronic conditions.

Benefits of Watermelon; Hydration

Watermelon consists of around 91% water. This makes it a great source of hydration, especially during hotter months when dehydration is more of a risk. Body temperature regulation, normal organ function, nutrient delivery to cells, and alertness are only some of the bodily processes that rely on adequate hydration.
Alongside drinking water eating foods with a high water content may help give your body the water it needs to function properly and since watermelon is mostly water it can serve as a good choice for daily water intake. 91% water content also means watermelon has a low calorie density. Eating foods with low calorie densities may help with weight management by keeping you feeling full for longer.
