Beyond ecstatic that we can finally announce our Audiotree session drops next Wednesday, 3/4 at 12PM 1CST.

For as long as I can remember I always saw Audiotree as a massive milestone as a musician. It seemed like something I’d never in my life be asked to do. I remember when Mannequin P***y did their AT session in 2017 and I thought to myself “wow, they’ve made it.” It seemed like the pinnacle of success as a musician to me.

I feel like people don’t talk enough about how weird it is being in the grey area between not quite a “local band”but not quite a “national act yet.” It is an endless grind and there’s practically no time or incentive to appreciate how far you’ve come because you’re spending all your time trying to get to the next level. There are so many milestones we’ve hit that I never celebrated because at this stage of my career all were doing is trying to get to the next thing, always thinking about what’s next. I never really celebrated when we got our first 10k monthly listeners, or when we went viral, or when we played Thalia Hall, or when we got our first European fest, or our first support tour. But with this I’m making it a point to stop and smell the roses. I never in my life thought I’d get to the point where my band gets asked to do Audiotree, and even though there’s so much more work to be done, little me is proud. Hope you enjoy the session.

In 2023, I was diagnosed with a rare chronic disease that only about 800 people on earth have at any given time. It was shocking, traumatic, and life-changing. I didn’t know if I’d even be alive the following year and I’m very grateful that I get to keep playing shows despite that experience.
I wrote “My Body is My Sickness” during that time.

Every Latter performance ends with me sawing off a hospital gown but It’s not meant to be sexual. It’s a ritual that reclaims the pain I experienced of being constantly dismissed and gaslit in healthcare. the gown sawing is an encapsulation of this experience.
