Her most recent and successful contribution the Streeterville Community was the Documentary, “The History of South Streeterville,” produced and co-edited by Gail Spreen and husband Dennis Downes. It has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community and all who have seen it. She has served as the Past President of The Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (SOAR) five times. It is the largest community active resident group in the City, involving itself in promoting neighborhood safety and improvements.
Gail has also been honored to be Past Chair of the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Parade and currently serves on the Wintrust Magnificent Mile Festival Board. This popular annual event is attended and witnessed on television by millions of people Nationwide.
Unafraid to get her hands dirty, Gail has been involved in organizing and participating in Jane Addams Community Clean-Up events twice a year for the past decade.
