ISBA Mutual Insurance Company was founded in 1988 by the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) to offer Illinois lawyers access to professional liability insurance with fair and stable premiums and solid coverage. Prior to that, commercial insurance companies offered legal malpractice insurance policies, but they came with costly and prohibitive premium increases. ISBA Mutual continues to be a financially strong mutual insurance company serving only Illinois with an eye on future growth. That brings us to newer issues — like cyber risk.
