Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day (that’s September 16), and it’s about a lot more than frozen margaritas and party clichés.

The holiday commemorates Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 - a moment that became a symbol of resilience, pride, and cultural identity.

So this year, we’re celebrating with something a little more meaningful:
rare bottles from Maguey Melate and the wildly distinctive Lucy Pistolas.

These are not mass-produced “party” bottles.

Maguey Melate: intensely savory, smoky, earthy, and wildly complex - the kind of mezcal that feels almost philosophical in the glass. Tiny production, rare agaves, and serious depth.

Lucy Pistolas: brighter, more fruit-driven and immediately expressive, with vibrant citrus, tropical notes, pepper, smoke, and enough personality to convert even mezcal skeptics.

Tiny batches. Real craftsmanship. Incredible mezcal.

Drink better. Learn something. Skip the clichés.
