Maybe it's because, as a musician, I witness talented souls in the industry resorting to substances to cope with their inner struggles and traumas. Or it could be the significant time I spent in the restaurant business, where we often celebrated our drink count rather than our achievements.

Society perpetuates many myths and passes judgment on those in active addiction or recovery. However, modern studies and results charts demonstrate that tough love and detachment aren't always the right approaches. Addiction is not a matter of character or willpower, nor is it a choice. It's a coping mechanism—a solution. Instead of focusing on changing the behavior, we must ask ourselves, 'What are we running away from?'

As humans, we learn and gain the deepest understanding through stories. So, I'll be sharing a series of tales about famous musicians and athletes—individuals who have influenced the world while battling their own internal struggles.
