The Extra Mile
My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in November 2011. I had just moved to Los Angeles with my wife, and not knowing how long he had left, began scheduling flights back to see him in Michigan. At least once a month I would fly back, rent a car, and spend 3-4 days reminiscing about good times with my dad, and creating some new memories to treasure. During this extremely stressful sp

We've been waiting over a year to announce that we've been chosen to partner with United for their Miles on a Mission program, and have set a goal to get 500,000 miles. ONE CATCH, if we don't meet our goal, we don't get any miles, and they are returned to everyone who donated.
The BEST part of this program is that there are NO FEES associated with donating miles, which has honestly been the largest barrier to donating since we began.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE donate what you can, and share this out so that your own networks will be able to partake. Achieving this goal would be a major win for us, and propel our organization to the next level. Feel free to share with any news outlets or PR connections you all have. Special thanks to Nicole Lee for helping us get to this point.
Maybe NBC Chicago, ABC 7 Chicago or CBS Chicago wants to help a Chicago based non-profit spread it's good word and mission!

We were able to finish out 2018 with one last connection made.
Through donations we received here on FB, we were able to fund the travel of a woman in need of visiting her dying mother who was given a month to live. Pati was able to spend time with her family throughout Christmas, one that will surely be her mom's last. We spoke, cried, and shared stories which is something that we try to do with every person we help.
Happy New Year, here's to 2019 and that it affords all of us who are fortunate, the ability to make the lives of those a little less so, just a bit better.
Cheers.
