Podcast of the Day #068: The Elimination Doctrine & The Road to Technological Barbarism: 04/13/2026

For fifty years, Israel, the United States, and the neoconservative-neoliberal network that connects them have pursued a single operating doctrine: when resistance organizes, eliminate its leadership. From Wael Zwaiter shot in Rome in 1972 to Qassem Soleimani killed by drone in Baghdad in 2020 to Nicolás Maduro captured in Caracas in January 2026, the method has been consistent. The pretexts rotate — terrorism, WMD, narcoterrorism, communist insurgency. The beneficiaries do not.

The Elimination Doctrine & The Road to Technological Barbarism is a major long-form investigation tracing this doctrine from its genealogy in the CIA's Phoenix Program and British imperial "key man" strategy through its Israeli refinement, its American industrialization, and its application across Libya, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, and Venezuela. It names the specific people — Perle, Feith, Wolfowitz, Bolton, the FDD network — who built the pipeline between Israeli strategic doctrine and American military policy. It documents the 38 million deaths associated with Western sanctions since 1971. It traces the domestic mirror — from Wounded Knee through Jim Crow through the prison-industrial complex — of the same eliminationist logic applied abroad. And it delivers the fifty-year verdict: not a mixed record, not a failure of ex*****on, but a machine working exactly as designed — for those it was always designed to serve.
The future is not made by removing the people who organize resistance. It is made by building the conditions that make resistance unnecessary.

Pepe Escobar dropped this a little over an hour ago on his Telegram:

🚨🇮🇷🇵🇰🇺🇸 - Ismael Baqaei, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman and a member of the delegation, released the first statement on the US-Iran talks in Islamabad.

Diplomacy for us is the continuation of the sacred jihad of the defenders of the Iranian land. We have not forgotten and will not forget the experiences of America's breaches of promise and malicious acts. Just as we will not forgive the heinous crimes committed by them and the Zionist regime during the course of the second and third imposed wars.

Today was a busy and long day for the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad. The intensive negotiations that began from the morning of Saturday with Pakistan's benevolent efforts and mediation have continued without interruption until now, and numerous messages and texts have been exchanged between the two sides. The Iranian negotiators are employing all their capabilities, experience, and knowledge to safeguard Iran's rights and interests. The heavy loss of our great elders, dear ones, and fellow countrymen has made our resolve to pursue the Iranian nation's interests and rights firmer than ever before.

Nothing can or should deter us from pursuing our great historical mission toward our beloved homeland and noble Iranian civilization. The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to utilize all tools, including diplomacy, to secure national interests and protect the country's well-being.

In the past 24 hours, discussions were held on various dimensions of the main negotiation topics, including the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue, war reparations, lifting of sanctions, and the complete end to the war against Iran and in the region.

The success of this diplomatic process depends on the seriousness and good faith of the opposing side, refraining from excessive demands and unlawful requests, and the acceptance of Iran's legitimate rights and interests.

We express our appreciation to the government and the warm-hearted and noble people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for hosting the negotiations and their benevolent efforts in advancing this process.

Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago - yes, the same professor who called out the U.S.-NATO proxy war against Russia back in 2014 - gives us some of his best on the US-Israeli war against Iran in just 10 minutes.
