Today marks a great day as, in its 171-year history, the Village of Matteson unveiled its first piece of public art.

A Storied Community, A Bright Future: Founded in 1855, Matteson continues to evolve under the leadership of **Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin.
Leadership that Sparks Change: The initiative was championed by Matteson Village Manager

**Anthony Burton, whose visionary leadership partnered with Gallery Guichard to bring a sculpture by master Zimbabwean sculptor Ishmael Chitiyo to life.
