One of the biggest misconceptions in the labor movement is when people say:
“The union should do something.”
Here’s the truth…
YOU ARE THE UNION.
The union isn’t a building.
The union isn’t an office.
The union isn’t just the president, business agents, organizers, or union stewards.
The union is every member.
Every member who attends meetings.
Every member who votes.
Every member who serves as a steward.
Every member who volunteers.
Every member who supports their co-workers.
Every member who stands together for fairness and respect.
A union is only as strong as the members who participate.
When members get involved, unions become stronger.
When members stay informed, unions become smarter.
When members stand together, workers win.
💡 Remember:
Don’t ask what your union can do for you. Ask what you can do to help strengthen your union.
An informed member becomes an engaged member.
An engaged member helps build a stronger workplace.
Knowledge is power. Unity is strength.
