Bianco Lab
The BiancoLab is focused on understanding the fundamental aspects of thyroid hormone action that involve the iodothyronine deiodinases D1, D2 and D3. The Lab is currently investigating the physiological roles played by these enzymes and their involvement in disease mechanisms. Knowledge obtained from these studies will help develop therapeutic approaches that regulate thyroid hormone action and preserve thyroid hormone homeostasis.
