Our Board Chair, Eva Giglio, has been named CEO of the Chicago Public Library Foundation!

Eva has spent her career fighting for Chicago's kids, as a teacher, a CPS leader, and Executive Director of the CME Group Foundation. And as our Board Chair, she's helped us make sure families across all 77 neighborhoods have the essentials they need to thrive.

Books + babies + a leader who believes in both? We couldn't dream up a better combo.

We’re proud to celebrate our Development Associate, Gina Jagminas, for representing Share Our Spare at the Early Childhood Research Alliance of Chicago’s Conference Poster Reception recently!

Gina shared insights from our work with Family Connects Chicago on “Share Our Spare and Family Connects Chicago: Increasing Essentials Access through a Universal Newborn Support System.”

Through this partnership, we’re working to strengthen connections between families and essential resources during one of the most important transitions in a child’s life. By meeting families where they are and reducing barriers to access, we are a part of a comprehensive approach to care that can help ensure more newborns and caregivers have the support they need from the very beginning.

Did you know that Share Our Spare has distributed more than 1.2 million diapers through our diaper ordering program in 2026 alone?

Thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we are able to guarantee each of our Permanent Partners access to diapers every month—helping thousands of children across Chicago stay clean, healthy, and comfortable.

Every diaper that leaves our Sharehouse is distributed by one of our incredible partner organizations, who work directly with families to provide essential resources and support.

The need, however, is greater than our current capacity. More than 100 programs remain on our Limited Partner list, waiting for additional opportunities to access diapers and other essentials. The growth of both our Permanent and Limited Partner programs is directly tied to our ability to secure enough diapers to meet community need.

Monetary donations go a long way. Through our wholesale diaper distributor, we can stretch every dollar to purchase diapers at the lowest possible cost and expand access for more children and families.
