Rebalancing. The Oakley Residence started as two separate homes. Properly uniting them demanded more than a new hole in the brick party wall. Backing the threshold between the two structures, the new kitchen position recenters the home’s layout. A tall, lacquer-wrapped bank of appliances creates a subtle divide—softening the scale of the expansive interiors while offering the perfect surface for a beloved artwork that grounds the dining area.
