Calling all emerging choreographers. ✨

Applications are now open for the 17th Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition.

A mission-driven initiative rooted in the values of Joffrey for All, Winning Works provides a platform for artists to create original works, share new perspectives, and help shape the future of dance.

Five choreographers—including one Chicago-based artist—will be selected to create new works in collaboration with dancers from the Grainger Academy of The Joffrey Ballet.

Selected artists receive a $5,000 stipend, rehearsal support, and travel accommodations.

As this season marks the close of an extraordinary chapter, we pause to honor and celebrate Nicolas Blanc as he concludes his time with The Joffrey Ballet after years of remarkable contributions to our Company.

Nic has guided our Company Artists with precision and care, shaping each rehearsal with insight, discipline, and artistry. Beyond the studio, he has been a trusted mentor and inspiring presence, fostering growth and nurturing the artistic voices of those around him.

As a choreographer, his creative vision has enriched our repertoire and captivated audiences, and we are grateful that his work will continue to live and evolve on the Joffrey stage for years to come.
