The Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago has been providing valuable consular services such as granting and renewing passports, visas and attesting documents since its establishment in 2005.

Consul General Zaman Mehdi, attended as Chief Guest the book launch of “باقیاتِ اقبال”, organized by the Urdu Institute Chicago.

The book by Dr. Syed Taqi Abidi, is a remarkable contribution to Iqbal Studies. It brings together less known poetic material associated with Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General appreciated the Urdu Institute Chicago for promoting Urdu literature and cultural heritage, and highlighted the growing salience of Iqbal’s message of selfhood, intellectual awakening, unity, and moral courage.

The event was attended by members of the literary community, scholars, and representatives of the Pakistani American community in Chicago.

Community Engagement in South Dakota on Eid Al Azha

Consul General Zaman Mehdi met with members of the Pakistani American community in South Dakota during Eid Al Azha and conveyed warm Eid greetings on behalf of the Consulate General of Pakistan, Chicago.

Speaking at the community’s Eid gathering, he highlighted the consular services being provided by the Mission across the Midwest and reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to facilitating Pakistani nationals and diaspora communities.

He appreciated the Pakistani American community for preserving and celebrating Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage while making valuable contributions to the local society and economy of South Dakota. He especially acknowledged the role of Pakistani professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders whose achievements continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and the United States.

The Consul General also noted the growing presence of Pakistani students in South Dakota.

The gathering reflected the spirit of Eid, community unity, and the shared commitment of Pakistani Americans to serve as a bridge of goodwill between Pakistan and the United States.
