The Chicago Calligraphy Collective fosters education and exposure to calligraphy in all its various forms and related arts. In a world where electronic communication and media are prevalent, we believe that providing awareness and appreciation of the “art of beautiful lettering” will allow this time-honored and diverse art form to not only endure, but to thrive in the 21st century.

From young to not so young, a great event for all skill levels. Try your hand is one of the most fun events! The community at and fans of learning all they can about calligraphy in a short session join in for 2 hours of fun. One could liken it to speed dating for calligraphy hands. Everyone gets a packet of what they learned to keep up the practice after they get home.

From delicious treats adorned with our 50th anniversary logo, to the smiles of everyone sharing their love of letters… Try Your Hand at the was a huge success. Our events director and helpers did a grand job pulling off a successful day. We thank everyone who came and joined us, the Irish American Heritage Center for hosting, and all the volunteers who shared their talents. What a fun day. Stay tuned for a few more posts!
