What began as a regular food pantry in South Seattle became a place where neighbors became friends, and friends became family.

Slowly, over time, the invitation to the table grew more mutual. People started bringing things of their own to share.

Nani reflects:
"About six months ago, I eventually stopped packing my lunch because it would go untouched. I was being fed by the residents, by my community."

Neighbors taught one another recipes. Families invited one another to holidays, baby naming ceremonies, and moments of grief. Through shared meals and everyday acts of care, strangers became neighbors, neighbors became friends, and friends became family.

As Nani notes, “At the table is where people change, and turn towards one another.”
