Mexican flag football star Diana Flores never imagined she’d carry the Olympic Torch—but in 2024, she did just that at Cannes Lions, standing alongside legends like Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, and Shaun White.

“It was such an honor,” she says. “I was representing my country, my community, and my sport on the Olympic stage for the first time.”

Flores, quarterback of Mexico’s world champion flag football team, has earned numerous accolades—from MVP at the 2022 World Games to being featured on Forbes’s 30 Under 30, People en Español’s 25 Más Poderosas, and LiS™: Latinos in Sports. She also made history as offensive coordinator at the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games and starred in the Emmy-winning NFL Super Bowl ad “Run With It.”

Now a global ambassador for the NFL and IFAF, and our Leading Latinas cover star, Flores is determined to grow the game and open doors for future generations of girls in sports.

🚨“ I’m worried that AI is going to destroy the internet.”

That’s how Diego Lastra opens his latest Publisher’s Circle op-ed in Hispanic Executive—and it’s a must-read for anyone thinking critically about the future of content, brand trust, and digital engagement.

As AI-generated posts flood our feeds, Diego raises the alarm on what’s quietly being lost: authenticity. He argues that as bots dominate online spaces and machine-generated language becomes indistinguishable from human voices, digital trust is eroding—and fast.

💡 His take? In a world saturated with algorithmic perfection, it’s imperfection, vulnerability, and *human connection* that will stand out—and win.

From DEA raids to the courtroom, from the Air Force to Meta—José Apolinar Olivera’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary.

As director and associate general counsel at Meta, José leads with conviction, empathy, and hard-won perspective. His story—marked by early trauma, resilience, and an unwavering drive to serve—could rival any Oscar-worthy script.

At thirteen, José’s home was raided by the DEA. By eighteen, he was serving in Iraq. By thirty, he was a federal prosecutor—holding the very title once assigned to those who prosecuted his own father and brother.

Now at Meta, he’s shaping the legal future of AI and digital safety while mentoring the next generation of legal talent.

This is more than a success story. It’s a powerful reminder that lived experience is not a barrier—but a bridge—to leadership.
