ShoeHeals is excited and deeply honored to share that our founder, Charisma Cannon, has been selected to participate in SVP Chicago’s Fast Pitch ’26, a powerful program that lifts up the voices and visions of nonprofits driving real change on Chicago’s South and West Sides!

For us, this is bigger than pitching an idea. It’s about making sure the work that ShoeHeals is doing continues to open doors, restore dignity, and create pathways for those who need it most.

From putting brand-new shoes on the feet of families and individuals facing hardship, to preparing to launch our 40-foot ShoeHeals Shoe Mobile, we are stepping boldly into a future filled with impact, growth, and unstoppable purpose.

Our founder being included in this showcase is such a blessing and a reminder that our vision is strong, and that the work we do truly matters and resonates. We’re grateful for this opportunity for our founder and trust us…she’s coming with her absolute BEST!

As we gear up to provide 150 new pairs of shoes to our unsheltered neighbors this November with Allied Universal, we’re reflecting on the impact from last year’s giveaway. We didn’t catch this young man’s name, but we noticed his shoes. Living in a park encampment on Chicago’s Westside, he literally came running when his neighbors told him, “They’re giving away new shoes!” When he slipped one off, there was a hole worn straight through the sole. After trying on several pairs, he chose these bright blue Brooks running shoes, smiling as he said they fit “like a dream.”Special thanks to Garvey Buchongo-Whitlow at Brooks Running Shoes and the Freedom to Run Project for making moments like this possible.This year, we’re doing it again and we’ll be calling for volunteers to help us put dignity, comfort, and confidence on the feet of those who need it most.
