MEET EKITI-BORN NIGERIAN DRAMATIST AND PROLIFIC PLAYWRIGHT, PETER FATOMILOLA.

Peter Fatomilola is a Nigerian dramatist, actor, poet, Ifa priest, and prolific playwright, born on January 16, 1946, in Ifisin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.

Influenced by his father, who was an Ifa Chief Priest, Fatomilola often portrayed herbalist and Ifa priest roles in Nigerian films.

In 1967, he became a member of the Olokun Theatre group under the direction of Professor Ola Rotimi at the University of Ife, now known as Obafemi Awolowo University.

He is also a faculty member at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 1978.

Fatomilola has appeared in numerous Nigerian films. Among his notable performances are:

Sango (1997): An epic African film in which he had a significant role.
Saworoide (1999): Directed by Tunde Kelani.
Koseegbe (1995)
Gold Statue (2019)
Apaadi (2009)
Kakanfo (2020)
Strangers (2022)
Love Castle (2021).

He was also the first actor to portray the character of Papa Ajasco in the comedy film of the same name.

BREAKING: ‘Why I Can’t Sleep At Night’ – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he has been losing sleep over the need to carry out key road projects in Karu and its surrounding areas.

The minister made the remark during the flag-off of the reconstruction and dualisation of Karu Road, from Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction, along with other township roads.

Wike explained that local leaders, including AMAC Chairman Christopher Maikalangu and former FCT Senator Philip Aduda, have been urging him to expand development work to benefit residents.

He said delivering projects for the people is about building relationships, not titles or formalities.

He announced plans to rebuild Customs Clinic Junction to CBN Quarter Junction, extend works to EFCC, and refurbish NIA Quarters Road, Pasi Road, and Primus Hospital Road.

Wike added that streetlights will be installed and the contractor has ten months to complete the projects, which are expected to boost business and economic activity.

The minister also encouraged residents to remember the contributions of local leaders when voting in future elections, noting Maikalangu’s role in pushing for these improvements.

A royal wind is blowing through Ijebuland, and it carries the scent of history in the making. King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, the Fuji music legend turned royal contender, is now the man many believe will ascend the sacred stool as the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

But his rise comes not through an uncontested path — rather, it emerges from a stormy palace drama in the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, where deep divisions and bruising court battles have thrown the royal line into disarray.

The Shocking Announcement

In a fiery declaration that rattled both palaces and parlours, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House released a thunderous statement:

“LET IT BE KNOWN to the Fusengbuwa Ruling House family, members across the globe, the people of Ijebuland, and the Ogun State Government that Otunba Monigbuwa of Ijebuland — High Chief Adedokun Ajidagba — remains the ONLY legitimate Olori-Ebi (Family Head) of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House… and NO ONE ELSE!”

The message was clear — and confrontational.

-Where the Trouble Began

This crisis traces its roots back to 2013, following the death of Prince Adebisi Adeyemi Obanlefa, the long-standing Family Head of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. His passing sparked a bitter succession tussle between banking icon Otunba Michael Subomi Balogun and accountant-turned-politician Alhaji Lateef Owoyemi.

The Ijebu Ode High Court soon dropped a royal bombshell: Owoyemi was not even a member of the Fusengbuwa family.

The judgment leaned heavily on sworn testimony from the late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona, who revealed Owoyemi’s roots traced back to Ikoro Ekiti — far outside Ijebu’s royal bloodline.

The Stakes of Olori-Ebi Power

The position of Olori-Ebi is no ceremonial role. It is the kingmaker’s seat — the one who guides the process of selecting candidates for the Awujale stool.

Without a legitimate Olori-Ebi, a Ruling House is like a ship without a captain, drifting at the mercy of political tides.

After the court’s ruling, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House unanimously crowned Otunba Adedokun Ajidagba as its head.
