R.I.P Jazzfusion Master

Sad to read that Dexter Wansel has passed. Back when I first started collecting vinyl, Dexter’s name was synonymous with high-quality jazzy soulful productions. Whether it was Jones Girls, MFSB, Jean Carne or his own material, his productions were some of the classiest out there - and that’s in an era where the competition was stiff. Realistically it doesn’t get much better than Nights Over Egypt, Mysteries of the World, Life On Mars, The Sweetest Pain. More recently Dexter has been touring again to great reaction. I’m so glad he witnessed how highly regarded his music has remained and also his fanbase got to see him perform his amazing material live. Sad he missed thr recent tribute concert in London but i suppose we now understand why. Safe onward journey Mr Wansel, as long as their’s humans on the planetyour music will be getting played
