I’ve been stress testing the iPad app for the past couple of days.

This isn’t a review. I’m simply putting it through my workflow to see how it performs in real world use.

First of all, hats off to the developers. I was genuinely surprised to see a professional DJ application running on an iPad. Coming from Traktor Pro, the interface and overall workflow felt familiar, and using it with a MIDI controller has been a really enjoyable experience.

Over the next few days, I’ll be recording a one hour DJ set using this setup to see how reliable it is during a longer performance.

Things I really like:

* Ableton Link integration makes syncing with other devices effortless.
* Custom MIDI mapping gives you the flexibility to build your own workflow.

Things I’d love to see improved:

* Master output level control.
* Track preview directly from the browser.
* Headphone cue level control.
* The ability to record the internal mix while using External Mixer Mode.
* Stem separation for locally stored tracks, not just Beatport streaming.
* External audio input support instead of dedicating all four channels exclusively to decks.

Overall, I’m genuinely impressed with what the team has built. Hopefully some of these suggestions make their way into future updates.
