Tomorrow I’m having surgery to remove 7 of the innumerable fibroids seen on my MRI that are inside and outside of my uterus.

The largest is the size of an orange and I’ve felt it protrude in my lower abdomen for a few years now even though doctors told me they couldn’t feel anything.

I have complained about endometriosis and extremely heavy and painful periods for decades but was never taken seriously. I was told to go on bc and that made me bleed for the past 3 months straight.

The fact that women, especially black women are not listened to when we say something isn’t right with our body just goes to show how prevalent medical misogynoir actually is.
