Two of the best in the industry discussing the power of maximal intensity cardio. Andrew Huberman & Andy Galpin dive into the details of why a workout like the CAROL bike provides incredible benefits.

The main takeaways:
-Typical slow paced, long duration cardio such as walking, jogging, even weight training should be a given for everybody. It can improve your cardiovascular health but not nearly as much as near max training.
-At least once a week, you should perform an exercise that causes you to go to near max heart rate. (Elsewhere in their conversation its stated that you can do a higher frequency with no negative effects).
-The benefits of max cardio training include improved stroke volume, cardiac output, resting heart rate, mitochondria performance and much more. Stress causes adaptation.
-A variety of different exercises can accomplish near max heart rate typically anywhere from 30 to 90 seconds. (The CAROL can accomplish this in just 20 seconds thanks to the adaptive AI technology).
-There is no interference effect with other forms of training including resistance, its actually tends to be complementary. They can be performed in the same workout or at different times (we typically perform a CAROL session after an ARX session).

Lets talk about proper form! 🗣

While HIIT is the most effective and efficient form of resistance training, its incredibly important not to forget proper technique, stability, and alignment while doing so. This will help lead to injury prevention, neurological adaptations, and superior results. To add, proper form will help you perform resistance training pain free if that is a ailment you currently face.

In this video, you see 3 different exercises: row, leg press, and chest press. In all 3, you can see how his trunk or what we call his thoracopelvic cylinder (TPC) are aligned and look identical. The TPC includes the ribs, spine, and hips. The goal is simple, keep the TPC aligned and the limbs will have a much greater chance of moving correctly throughout exercise.
