The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) operates the nation's second largest public transportation system--a regional transit system that serves the City of Chicago and 40 neighboring communities. CTA provides ~1.6 million rides on an average weekday, accounting for over 80% of all transit trips taken in the six-county Chicago metropolitan region.

This year, CTA was excited to show up for Pride and the people who celebrate it in a big way.
Pride@CTA—our LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group created last year—made its parade debut, joining the 2026 Chicago Pride Parade lineup for the very first time. And behind the scenes, our employees were out in full force, ensuring thousands of parade-goers had a safe, smooth, and celebratory ride to and from the festivities.
Acting President Nora Leerhsen, who also marched in the parade, stopped by an employee briefing and visited stations along the route, including Belmont, Diversey, and Fullerton, to connect directly with the employees that were making it all happen.
To everyone who marched, worked, cheered from the platforms, or hopped on the train to join the celebration: thank you. Moving Chicago forward means moving together with pride, visibility, and inclusion.
