Since hearing about the passing of Gash Debebe Eshetu, I have been at a loss for words to express the depth of my grief and admiration for him. He was not only a legendary artist and politician but also a steadfast supporter and advisor to me personally and to Maleda Media since 2005—long before I was forced into exile during the Ethiopian federal election turmoil.
At that time, when we journalists were falsely accused by the TPLF government of crimes such as genocide and treason—charges we never committed—Gash Debebe stood by us with courage and integrity. As we reported on the killings of innocent civilians and children in Addis Ababa, he rose as an opposition figure who guided us, encouraging us to stand firm in the face of the most oppressive era Ethiopia had ever endured.
From the early days of Maleda Media (Maledatimes.com) until his final days, Gash Debebe was a vital source of information and wisdom. Even when he was battling illness, he continued to provide us with accurate, timely updates about the realities of life in Ethiopia—the suffering of the people, the struggles with poverty, and the silent exploitation of the nation by foreign powers. His dedication to truth and justice helped Maleda Media remain steadfast in its mission.
Today, we have lost not only an iconic artist and storyteller but also a political thinker, a mentor, and a true friend of our media. His lifelong contributions through film, theater, literature, and activism will remain etched in our hearts forever.
Thank you, Gash Debebe, for your tireless dedication, your wisdom, and your love for Ethiopia. You will always be remembered with the deepest respect and gratitude. The entire Maleda Media family mourns your passing, cherishes your legacy, and loves you dearly.
As you often reminded us: “አክባሪህ ዘለአለም ገብሬ” — we will honor your memory for all eternity.

ችካጎ ሲባል እንደ ትልቅ ቅርስ ዋይልድ ሄር የሬጌ ሚውዚቅ ሁልጊዜም ይነሳል :: ቴዲ አፍሮ ሰሜን አሜሪካም ይሁን አውሮጳ ኮንሰርት ሲኖረው በቅድሚ ልምምድ ወይንም ርሔርሳል በዚሁ በዋይል ሄር ባር ውስጥ ሳምንት ሁለት ሳምንት ወይንም ወራቶችንም አስቆጥረው ከእነ ሙሉ ባንዱ ልምምዳቸውን የሚያደርጉበት ትልቅ ቦታቸውም ነው :: የአቡጊዳ ባንድ ልዩ ቤታቸውም እንደሆነ ይናገሩለታል::

በተለይም የምንወደው ወንድማችን አሥራት አኧምሮሥላሴ ህልሙን እውን ለማድረግ ሲተጋ የኖረ ወንድማችን ነበር ነገር ግን እንደ አሰበው ሳይሆን ድንገት ይህችን አለም ተሰናብቶብን አለፈ:: ታዲያ ከአሥራት ጎን ሆኖ እኩል ገነባቸውን ኃይላቸውን እውቀታቸውን ሁሉ ሳይቀር ሲከሰክሱ የነበሩት የአቡጊዳ ባንድ ድራም (ከበሮ) ተጨዋች የሆነው በፀባዩ ማንም ሊወዳደረው የማይችለው ሩፋኤል ወልደማርያም እና ቤተሰቦቹ የዋይልድ ሄር ከተቀበረበት እንዲነሳ ከአሥራት ጋር በመሆን ህይወትን ዘርተውበታል ::

በተለይም የመጀመሪያው ዋይልድሄር እንዲዘጋ ትልቅ ችግር በተፈጠረባቸው ጊዜ ምንምሳይደናገጡ ሰው የስራውን እና የእጁን ያገኛል እኛ ከጠነከርን ብዙ መስራት እንችላለን የሚል አላማ አንግበው እንደ አዲስ በስንት ልፋት እና ጥረት ተነስተው ለዚህ አብቅተውት ነበር አሁንም በድጋሚ መልካም እና ቀና ልብ ያላቸው ወንድሞቻችን በደግነታቸው ብዛት በቢዝነስ ፓርትነሮቻቸው ከፍተኛ ክህደት ከአንድም ለሁለተኛ ጊዜ እየተፈፀመባቸው ይገኛል ታዲያ እኛም ይህንን የምናውቅ ዜጎች በአለን አቅም እየረዳን በመቀጠል ደግሞ ፊርማዎችንም አሰባስበን ክህደት የፈፀመባቸውን ሰው ከቦታው ተነስቶ ዳግም እነርሱ ወደ ስራቸው እንዲመለሱ ጥረት ብናደርግ መልካም ነው:: ዋይልድ ሄር የእኔም የእናንተም የሁላችንም ነው :: Teddy Ahadoo Yared Abraham Kofi Cromwell Ermias T Kebede Ermias Bishu Ruphael Woldemariam Samri Tesfa Asmelash Yared Shumete Sador Daniel Hermela G.
