Weather PSA: The forests are ablaze north of us , and some of the smoke will pay us a visit over the next several days . Never a great time for this , but with our hot, humid air and not much surface wind , the smoke particles can blend in pretty easily and hang around . Link to the Airnow dot Gov website in the comments . Chicago has a good network of sensors throughout the area if you want to monitor . Those sensitive or with respiratory issues should limit outdoor time , and ,from experience , KN95 or (even better) 3M Cool Flow masks provide enough protection to say 'What smoke ?' The Cool Flow allows free exhaling , so no fogging/heat under the mask from breathing . The heat is also going to stay blazing Wednesday , and merely quite hot Thursday through the weekend ..

Weather PSA: June started very warm , then retreated to a late spring , and now we'll dive right into deep Summer weather as we close the month . Sunday ( 6/28), we'll have seasonable high temps and a bit of humidity . Dry for the pre-game and the Parade , but possible showers later this afternoon and evening as the even warmer and more humid air begins to flow in . Monday , Tuesday, and Wednesday will be hot .. highs about 10 -12 degrees above average rising to the mid 90s , and overnight we'll cool down to the high 70s if we're lucky . Excessive to Tropical humidity on top pf the heat . Expect extreme heat advisories and warnings , and we might get an air quality alert, too . The only good side is no storms . Looking ahead to the end of the week , we'll probably move from excessive heat to merely 'hot' because some stormier weather could move in . Take heat precautions this week, stay hydrated and cool ..
