Affordable housing in Woodlawn just got a major investment. ποΈ
LISC provided $6.2 million to Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) to renovate Island Terrace Apartments, a 240-unit high-rise just steps from the future Obama Presidential Center. After nearly 60 years, the building is getting the upgrades it deserves: modernized plumbing and electrical, refreshed community spaces, and new kitchens and baths.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corp new fitness space at their Healthy Lifestyle Hub!
This event marked the start of our new partnership with Peloton, which will bring bikes to LISC partner organizations across Chicago at sites like housing developments, community centers, and youth spaces. Check out some of the highlights if you missed it, and be sure to catch the next one. π΄πΎββοΈ
