Tomorrow I leave for for the Ann and Weston Hicks Choreography Fellows Program. I am so excited to be bringing some incredibly creative, beautiful dancers and good friends with me - Celine and Anouk!

Celine grew up training in her hometown of Redding, California. She is a graduate from Butler University with a major in Dance Pedagogy. She spent summers training at The Jillana School, Long Beach Ballet, Ballet West, Ballet Met, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and River North Dance Chicago. She has been fortunate to work with teachers and choreographers such as Frank Chavez, Lesley Telford, Ronn Stewart, Hanna Brictson, Noelle Kayser, Robyn Mineko Williams and Jessica Miller Tomlinson among others. Since moving to Chicago in 2016, she has danced with Elements Contemporary Ballet, Cocodaco Dance Project, and Little Fire Artist Collective as well as freelanced throughout the city participating in dance festivals such as Take Up Space, Going Dutch, and Detroit Dance City Festival. She has danced with Moonwater Dance Project since its inception in 2018 and serves as the company’s Executive Director.

Anouk is a multidisciplinary movement artist born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Lingít Aaní, home of the A'akw Kwáan and T'aku Kwáan peoples. After attending Walnut Hill High School for the Arts, she graduated from the LINES Ballet BFA Program. While at LINES, she performed works by Alice Klock, Robert Moses, Christian Burns, and Gregory Dawson, among others. Anouk ‘s short dance film, “solace,” was selected for the 2021 San Francisco Dance Film Festival. Professionally, Anouk has performed works by Genevieve Carson, Katlin Bourgeois, Noelle Keyser, Monique Haley, Megan Rhodes, Jackie Nowiki, and Jessi Stegall, to name a few. A former company member of Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre and Dance in the Parks (Chicago), Anouk is currently a dancer with Peckish Rhodes Performing Arts Society, Niko8 Dance, and a member of Little Fire Artist Collective. When not in the studio, Anouk can be found teaching GYROTONICⓇ, rock climbing, or exploring the outdoors.
