This train operates on weekdays from Hodgkins to Galesburg, typically completing additional work along the route at Joliet, Lorenzo and Elwood. This pair of warbonnets look right at home as they travel across the former main line of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway! In the present day, this route is the BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision - a part of the company's "Southern Transcon" line connecting Chicago and Los Angeles, California.
METX F40PH-3 No. 138 passes through Irving Park Station in the Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois on a hazy summer morning. The locomotive is pushing an inbound Union Pacific Northwest (UP-NW) train toward its destination at Ogilvie Transportation Center (OTC) in downtown Chicago.
